Over the past week, we've given you a snapshot of the 8 sessions in the Time2Care training manual. Each session includes a range of group work activities including DVD clips, discussion questions and reflective learning exercises.

Most importantly the Time2Care Training Manual includes stories from carers, poems and case studies. These are very insightful and helpful to enable participants to reflect on their own caring journey.

The final session in the Time2Care training manual allows participants to conclude their time together as a group. The session is a time to reflect on the content covered in previous sessions and explore their learning outcomes. A few activity worksheets, entitled 'my top tips for caring', 'my learning curve story' and 'where do I go from here', are provided to allow individuals and the group to reflect, share and feedback.

The penultimate session in the Time2Care training manual allows participants to think about the process of grief and the importance of receiving support. 'Time2Comfort' enables participants to consider how to 'move on' with life after the caring journey has come to an end. The session will include adjusting to life, receiving support, changes in one's life and coping with these changes. The session will also help participants to consider taking care of yourself and the feelings experienced after the loss of a loved one.

As well as the DVD clip and discussion question, Barbara shares her own personal experience. There is a 'weekly planner' template and a reflective learning exercise.

Session 6 of the Time2Care Training Manual will challenge participants to look at their own community. Participants will gain a better understanding of what community and community cares means, and the support and help it offers to those who are on the caring journey. Participants will think about the holistic approach to caring, the value of community engagement and pastoral care, and the importance of faith based groups' care and support within the community. There will be an array of tips and ideas as well as the session DVD clip and discussion questions and reflective learning exercise.

In session 5 of the Time2Care training manual, participants will gain a better understanding of dementia.

The 'Time2Communicate' session will highlight the types of dementia, how someone living with dementia feels and behaves as well as the necessary communication aids required for dementia care. The session includes shared experiences from real stories and dementia care on a hospital ward. The session will also identify the '14 Commandments of Dementia Care', spirituality, faith and dementia and the challenge of the setting up of a dementia friendly environment. Similarly to previous sessions, participants will watch a DVD clip and discuss accompanying questions and conclude with a reflective learning exercise.

The forth session of the Time2Care training manual is entitled 'Time2Choose'.

In this session, participants will focus their attention on the categories of care, making a decision, choosing a care home, transition to a care home setting, commonly felt emotions, personal experiences and dealing with concerns. The session will include information regarding support and the setting up of a support group. Participants will gain confidence from the helpful hints and questionnaire findings. Similarly to other sessions, there will be a DVD clip with accompanying discussion questions and a reflective learning exercise.
