Care 2 Share NI ...
- Caring for a family member or friend irrespective of age or illness can be a very anxious and traumatic experience. I myself have been a carer for my late father who was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s and who was a resident in two care home settings.
- During my caring journey I have had the opportunity and privilege of speaking at various functions such as NI Hospital Chaplains Conference, Queens University Mental Health Students, Support groups, Consultative groups, Joint Initiatives, Care Home residents groups, Community and Church groups.
- I trust that all who use these publications will be encourage and supported in their caring journey and profession.
- Mayor of Antrim and Newtownabbey, Councillor Billy Webb said: “Carers can often feel like the forgotten army. They make many sacrifices to be able to care for their loved ones and the impact of the pandemic has only heightened the issues of isolation felt among carers. Mary has committed many years to providing resources for carers and I know this new material will be a great support to so many of our carers who play such a vital role in our local communities and in supporting our health service.”
(Cllr Billy Webb MBE JP – Mayor of Antrim and Newtownabbey 2021-22)
“I am delighted on behalf of the Northern Health & Social Care Trust to be able to support Mary as she continues to work tirelessly providing comprehensive informative written materials for Carers. Mary has used her own personal experience and also that gained from within her
extensive community and pastoral work to develop an excellent resource pack, which will be of great benefit to Carers of all ages and in a wide variety of situations. The resource can be used in totality or in selected parts making it user friendly and applicable as and when individuals require support and guidance to assist them in their caring role”
(Melanie Phillips, Assistant Director, Community Care, East Antrim Locality 2021)
Testimonials
Hear from those who have taken training and read the publications.
Mary, through her publications and how this training resource 'Time2Care' has skilfully created the most magnificent educational tool which will undoubtedly change the way we support people who are in need to care, treatment and compassion. The bite size elements of the programme make it easy to dip in and out of it is easy to use in training events or just by a carer in the privacy of their own home.
A most wonderful asset for us all to use in our day practice as the powerful message stay with us long after the viewing.
